Dr Declan Murray
Declan has 30 years’ experience working in psychiatry in Ireland and the UK.
In his clinical work he leads teams in community psychiatry and dialectical behavior therapy (CBT for patients with serious multiple problems). His interest in forensic psychiatry includes personal injury, workplace and disability assessments. He has worked as a full time Inpatient Consultant. He is a graduate of University College Dublin and teaches at The University of Limerick. He has been on the board of examiners of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (London) since 1997.
Declan has very considerable expertise in the areas of workplace and disability assessment. He is a leading pioneer in promoting the use of detailed psychometric testing as part of the independent psychiatric assessment process and these particular tests can be helpful in determining if there is any exaggeration or feigning of symptoms present on examination.
